Abraham Lincoln the best President ever? I can live with that. But lets not kid ourselves, this is a setup, a setup for a later survey that will show that Obama is one of the greatest ever.
Do you think I’m wrong? Lets just look at this survey for some clues as to how the historians who were surveyed think. I would like to point out three that particualarly stand out. Woodrow Wilson at number 9, Bill Clinton at 15, and Jimmy Carter at 25. Are you kidding me? Jimmy Carter, out of all the Presidents there have ever been, you’re telling me that Jimmy (18% interest rates, inflation out the roof, Iran hostage crisis)Carter is the 25th best President we have ever had?
You’re telling me that Bill Clinton, a President who was impeached is the 15th best we have ever had? And Woodrow Wilson, the architect of today’s modern fascist socialists breaks the top ten? Folks, if this survey is correct, we are in deeper trouble than I thought.
How can you possibly say that George W. Bush is the 36th best or 7th worst, depending on how you read it, President we have ever had. The man has been out of office not even a month. If they insist on having these stupid surveys than there should be a prerequisite that the man should be out of office at least 20 years to get some kind of measure of his impact on the country.
As far as Lincoln, he could very well be the best President in history, but the reason he is number one on this survey is not because they believe it, it’s because Obama and his cronies have spent the last month trying to make us believe that he IS Lincoln. Sorry, I don’t buy it.

I’d like to think that history will be much kinder to President Bush twenty years or so out.
I’m surprised that they haven’t declared Obama to be the greatest already. Heck let’s name streets and schools after him. Oh wait a minute. We’re already doing that.

Shane, I feel the same way about President Bush, another thing I didn’t mention was where Reagan fell in this survey, #10. It’s almost like they knew if he didn’t make the top ten there would be rioting in the streets, so they gave him the token top ten slot. He rates much higher in my book. But then again, nobody asked me!

I can buy Abe as first, but FDR third? These guys need to re-check their PHD’s.
