You can all breathe a sigh of relief now; President Obama is “likely” to speak about flight 253 in the coming days. Likely means he may or he may not, depending on the media spin I suppose. While the Obama family is in Hawaii enjoying what Obama hopes is a “news free” vacation, he’s being briefed and kept up to speed on world events. Um, doesn’t that sort of go without saying if you’re the President?

A couple observations about this, since when does the President of the United States think he’s allowed to have a “news free” vacation? Obama feels that somehow he’s more worthy than any other Chief Executive to warrant a vacation detached from pertinent issues?

Correct me if I’m wrong, and I know you will, but I don’t remember any other President ever declaring himself to be on a “news free” vacation.
Secondly, what information does Obama need to gather before making a statement on the attempted bombing of flight 253 on Christmas Day?

This smacks of the Fort Hood incident when Barack Obama was quick to tell us all not to jump to conclusions before we quickly found out those conclusions were true. He certainly wasted no time making a statement (a stupid one at that) in the Cambridge incident involving his friend Professor Skip Gates.

Maybe Obama’s forthcoming statement will be about another beer summit, this time involving a representative of Islamic extremism and the Dutch hero of flight 253. One can only imagine with Barack Hussein Obama.
