Is everyone in agreement now? It’s pretty much unanimous around my house that Senator Al Franken is a jackass. If it wasn’t apparent before, his display as the presiding officer of the Senate (stop and think about that one for a minute) should have cemented his place in jackass halls of fame everywhere. He made ours.
Joe Lieberman is pretty much the left-wings scapegoat on this healthcare calamity; it’s a shame for Lieberman because he really wasn’t and isn’t the lone voice of dissent on this ridiculous thing. Nonetheless, Franken and the boys are going to see to it that Joe Lieberman is summarily spanked in public whenever the chance arises.
As Lieberman spent his 10 minutes on the floor of the Senate, he asked for a moment more. He was denied by Franken for what one can only determine was spite. That’s real grown up of you there Al.
If it’s not MoveOn.org mounting a campaign against Lieberman, its clowns like Stuart Smalley Senator Al Franken from Minnesota. By the way, great job people of Minnesota. You really did yourself proud with this jackass.

How do you know it could only have been spite?
In any case, can you blame Franken for being peeved? He was elected on a pro-healthcare platform. His party has 59 votes for healthcare… 8 OVER THE CONSTITIONALLY REQUIRED NUMBER! (The constitution clearly says we only need a simple majority, NOT 60 %)

Well, I think what he did was garbage. This is an aparent display of “shut up”. Did anyone hear McCain’s response? If not, check into it. I’m looking forward to 2010 when “they” lose all control. The control they have no idea how to handle.

Al Franken is a punk nothing more then a small fish in a big pond. Has no respect for his position or the instituion he stole a set in.

Al Franken has done something somebody should have done a long time ago, tell Lieberman to shut up. Al is a God. And this health care reform is just a joke now, without loss of antitrust protection or a viable public option I say buy health care stocks it’s just another screwing by our corporate owned congress, just less dems are owned versus all the republicans except McCain who is owned by his wife.

Al Franken’s behavior is unacceptable and definitely un-Minnesotan…the people he is supposed to be representing.
December 18th, 2009 at 10:11 am
Senator Lieberman was allotted ten minutes, in which he filled with a mind-numbing drone that added zilch to the debate. The good Senator from Minnesota used his parliamentary pregotive to put a sock in Joe’s mouth.
Hooray for Senator Franken.
Too bad that Senator McCain got so sad, though.

Senator Lieberman and the rest of the “Good Ol’ Boys” need a wake up call and the call is Senator Al Franken. We have a bunch of immoral “punks”in the Whitehouse. Senator Al Franken is a breathe of fresh air.
Continue the great work Senator Franken.

Shannon,
Some good responses here. Nice to see the liberals follow your site, and look to you for wisdom.
Franken=jackass, simply on the basis that he is a liberal. I loved the moveon.org campaign. Childish. Yet, what can we expect from a political mindset that is feminine in nature? Just like a 13-year old girl who has been told No, they run and pout and gather their other 13-year old girlfriends to complain. So predictable, it is borderline tedious.
Ah well. Freedom of Speech is what we have thanks to our Constitution, albeit the liberals still find a way to abuse it, go figure, and their petty comments are allowed here, by your wishes. You are a true American, and just know that there is a patriot in CT who digs what you’re cookin’.
Long Live the Republic, and God Bless America.

libs can’t help themselves Donald, they see a Sarah Palin story or whatever and they just have to leave some smartass comment. You know, call you an idiot, unintelligent or whatever. It really is comical. I really love how the bash Palin for the stupidest things.

Donald Borsch Jr admonishes liberals for being petty, tedious and abusing free speech rights… this right after he calls a sitting senator of the US a jackass and compares people who oppose right-wingnuttery to pouty 13 year old girls.
DB jr tediously provides (yet another) example of the slow sucky noise from the vacuum known as conservative thought.

Mike Olson,
I’m exercising my Free Speech right to speak just like those called liberals. My right, my choice to be petty. So what?
Now run along and go watch Gossip Girl reruns with your teeny-bopper girlfriends. Adults are talking here.
December 18th, 2009 at 4:16 pm
Actually Mike he called liberals jackasses. I posted that Franken was a jackass. Sitting Senator indeed.

Please don’t use Franken the total idiot to dinigrate very intelligent jackasses. It would be a step up to have a jackass in the senate instead of Franken or Grayson or Durbin or Reid or “I served in Vietnam” Kerry, ect., ect., ect.
December 20th, 2009 at 12:02 pm
I do understand how comparing Franken and some of these other jackasses to jackasses gives a bad name to jackasses. No self respecting jackass wants to be compared to Chuck Schumer or Al Franken.

What Al Franken did is a classic example of what is happening in the Senate. They are trying to shut up anyone who has a difference of opinion. Its classic Chicago politics, just like the earmarks, bi-partisanship, transparency, it was all a lie to get elected….Even if we vote them out, which everybody should, they have their gravy retirements that they voted in for themselves…..These “jackasses” are as corrupt as it gets.
January 2nd, 2010 at 10:45 pm
No doubt the corruption runs deep right now, Thomas.
