I love when common sense and reality collide with the mainstream media’s world view, you know those times when they all of a sudden see what we’ve been seeing for a while. A NBC/Wall Street Journal poll found that the Tea Party movement is more popular than the Republican or Democrat parties. Well, duh!

The poll shows that Republicans and Democrats have a net negative favorable/unfavorable rating. The Tea Party movement has a net positive favorable/unfavorable rating of 41-23. But here’s my favorite nugget of wisdom from the MSNBC story about the poll:

Yet looking inside those numbers, more than three-quarters (76 percent) of those who say FOX News is where they get their news see the Tea Party movement positively, versus just 4 percent who see it negatively.

That’s a stark contrast to how viewers of the competing cable networks CNN and MSNBC see the movement. More of those viewers have a negative opinion of it (36 percent) than a positive one (24 percent).

Gee, you think they figured that out all by themselves? Could it be the negative spin and criticism that the Tea Party movement has garnered from the other cable networks and left-wing outlets? MSNBC itself has practically called the Tea Party movement full of nothing but a bunch of nuts who love God, and are practically ready to take over the government in an armed coup. Not smart enough to know when they’re being led by such brilliant leaders as Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi. Harry Reid not so much anymore.
