As we were saying the other day, Sean Penn has a penchant for flying around the world and meeting with America’s enemies. So the actor turned diplomat leaves Cuba and heads straight for Venezuela, lovely. Now this is of course an AP report as told by Hugo Chavez himself, so take that for whatever it’s worth.
For some reason I have no trouble believing that Sean Penn did end up in Venezuela talking politics with Chavez. He reportedly told Chavez that he would see President Obama soon and of course Chavez gave Penn the same old make him earn his Nobel Prize spiel. How lame. He also reportedly gave Sean Penn (diplomat) military advice as well, telling him to tell the President to get rid of a plan to increase our military presence in Colombia.
Doesn’t it make you feel secure knowing that National Security advice is going from Hugo Chavez to Sean Penn and presumably to the President? I wonder if Obama would dither on such sound advice from two of the world’s top diplomats?
Well, like minded people are drawn to each other.
