Bloggers in Israel are getting the respect that they deserve, the GPO (Government Press Office) is thinking about giving prominent bloggers the same credentials as journalists and reporters. The reason? They say that bloggers are the watchdog of the watchdog and have done more to protect Israel than mainstream journalists.
At the International Jewish Bloggers Convention, Ron Dermer took time to recognize the actual good that bloggers do and have done for the state of Israel. From the Jerusalem Post:
Lauding the work of bloggers in defending Israel, Dermer claimed that “The blogger [Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs] who revealed Reuters’ doctoring of images during the Second Lebanon War did as much as any Israeli intelligence officer did.”
Funny, over here, bloggers are being accused of spreading misinformation and lies. Well conservative bloggers are anyway.
Bloggers are for the most part the “watchdog of the watchdog”.
How else can you explain the ACORN story breaking on of all things, a blog. The MSM has refused to do the job that they are supposed to do, they have completely yielded to the will of Obama and his Administration and refuse to investigate or question anything that would derail the liberal agenda.
Hence, the rise of the “watchdog of the watchdog.” It’s kinda catchy.
