Kathleen Sebelius “misspoke” when she said that a public option was not essential. Sure she did, how many of us out here actually believed it when she said it anyway. Whether Sebelius misspoke or not, it doesn’t really matter, a public option is what this healthcare debacle is all about anyway.

Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius discusses food safety in Washington

An administration official said tonight that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius “misspoke” when she told CNN this morning that a government run health insurance option “is not an essential part” of reform. This official asked not to be identified in exchange for providing clarity about the intentions of the President.

Linda Douglass, the former ABC hack who is now an official Obama hack said:

“Nothing has changed.,” she said. “The President has always said that what is essential that health insurance reform lower costs, ensure that there are affordable options for all Americans and increase choice and competition in the health insurance market. He believes that the public option is the best way to achieve these goals.”

So it appears that when Sebelius “misspoke” as they say, she got a lot of hopes up that perhaps the White House was about to cave. Not so fast, we’re talking about liberals here, who have no other goal than to run your everyday life. They need the public option in the healthcare bill for that.
